Treasured Wheels Museum - Mankind's Infinite Urge to Learn, Explore and Discover.

 

Treasured Wheels Museum is a grand collection of classic cars and bikes amongst beautiful lush scenery near Guwahati in Assam. It is the greatest example of man's power of dreaming, believing and working continuously to realize that dream is illustrated. Mr. Piklu Deka or Piklu Da as everyone calls him is the man behind this dream. He started his dream thirty years ago has finally now transformed in the shape of a museum with a collection of over 50 vintage cars, 50 motorbikes and much more.

 

 

The history of his collection began when he was a boy of mereseven. Coming back from school every day, he saw a vintage car running the streets of Dibrugarh, Assam, his hometown. That car made an ever-lasting impression on him and he made up his mind to buy that car when he grew up. Years later, he found the vehicle somewhere thrown in a jungle, so he had it fished out and repaired it back to life. Whenever he’d drive it around, a crowd would gather to adore it. This led him to realize that vintage automobiles excite everyone!

 

 

The entrance to this musium is hut-shaped and covered with bullet-dented helmets which belongs to soldiers who fought in World War II. Mr. Deka loves the environment and it can also be seen at the Museum that is covered with lish Green surroundings. He has planted around 22000 saplings of litchis, guavas, bay leaves and neem across the campus of the museum which now makes it an ideal retreat for a weekend getaway from the city. Adventure Junkies can enjoy trekking and boating facilities. Stay is arranged at tree houses in the museum campus and expensive Assamese traditional cuisine can be savored on prior request.
