Coin Museum Nasik - Exhibits on the History of Indian Coins.

 

Coin Museum of Nasik is one of its kind in India gives tourists a glimpse of Indian currency evolution over years. In the museum, one can see exhibits like molds, dyes, replicas and photographs of coins since the ancient time. Also the museum has a unique assemblage of machines that are used for casting and striking. Coin Museum is the only one of its kind in Asia. It boasts a fine collection of documented history of Indian currencies along with terracottas, copper-hoard objects, paintings and a number of historical artefacts. It is established in the year 1980 under the Institute of Research in Numismatic Studies. The museum includes an excellent study collection and a well-documented history of Indian money. Coin Museum provides a comprehensive overview of Indian money from the beginning to the present.

 

 

The Coin Museum in Anjaneri near Nashik, is an attractive tourist site. The museum's setting is quite cool, as it is set against the captivating Anjaneri Hill in Nashik. Anjaneri is one of the exquisite attractions near Nashik city. According to Hindu mythology, Anjaneri's claim to fame lies in being the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, so the place is named after Hanuman's mother 'Anjani'. The museum is located on National Highway No 848 but reaching here is not a toff task as the buses and taxis are easily available from anywhere in the city to reach the Coin Museum.

This museum remain closed on Sundays and public Holidays.
