Sita Gufa Panchavati - Significant Site in the Hindu Epic Ramayana.

 

Sita Gufa is a significant site in the Hindu epic Ramayana. The caves in which Sita Mata was living with Lord Rama during his exile of 14 years is known as "Sita Gufa" in Panchavati, Nashik. They spend the majority of his time in Panchavati. It is said that Ravana, Lanka's evil king, kidnapped Sita from here. The cave is now a famous destination for pilgrims who come to Panchavati to learn more about the Ramayana narrative. It is one of the top pilgrimage places to visit in Nashik. Sita Gumpha is believed to be the place where Sita worshipped Lord Shiva during their exile.

 

 

People can access the cave through the narrow staircase that leads into it, which is located near the five sacred banyan trees in the region. Inside, there is an idol of Sita, as well as Rama and his brother, Lakshman. A Shiva Linga can be found in a cave to the left. Attractions Near Sita Gufa:

You can visit Ramkund which is a sacred bathing ghat of the Godavari river and only 500 meters away from the cave. Kalaram temple is an old Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Rama and located most effective 200 meters from the cave. "Kapaleshwar temple" which is one of the very few temples of Lord shiva without Nandi. It is located only 450 meters from the cave.

Cave open for all days from morning 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM evening.

 

How to Reach Sita Gufa:

Nashik railway station (Vani - Dindori Rd) is only 5 km from the cave. The nearest airport to cave is the Nashik airport which is around 19.2 km from the temple. Cave is only 2.4 km away from Nashik Central bus stand which is well-connected to big cities.
