Siliserh Lake Alwar - A Beautiful Artificial Lake Surrounded by Lush Green Hills and Dense Forests.

 

Siliserh Lake was built in 1845 by Maharaja Vinay Singh, the then ruler of Alwar, to serve as a water reservoir was dedicated to his queen, Sheela. The lake was created by damming the river Ruparel. It has two earthen dams and the Aravalli hills as its backdrop. It covers an area of about 10.5 square kilometers.

 

Adjacent to the lake is the magnificent Siliserh Palace, which was built as a hunting lodge by Maharaja Vinay Singh. The palace has now been converted into a heritage hotel, offering a luxurious stay for tourists. Its unique architecture and stunning views of the lake make it a popular attraction.

The best time to visit Siliserh Lake is during the winter season, from October to March. During winter, the weather in Siliserh Lake is pleasant and mild, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C. The days are usually sunny, and the nights can be cool. It is a comfortable time for outdoor activities and exploring the lake and its surroundings.

Siliserh Lake is situated about 13 kilometers southwest of Alwar city, in the foothills of the Aravalli Range. The lake is easily accessible by road. Alwar is the top most attractions for the visitors from nearby cities like Jaipur and Delhi.
