Statue of Belief Nathdwara - World's Tallest Shiva Statue.

 

The Statue of Belief also called Vishwas Swaroopam is the tallest statue of the Hindu God Shiva constructed at Nathdwara in Rajasthan, India. The Statue of Belief opened for visitors on 29 October 2022. Lord Shiva is depicted in a seated position with his legs crossed and holding a trishula in his left hand. Shiva's left foot is thrown over the knee of his right foot. The facial expression is detached, meditative. The 'Statue of Faith' has a distinctive copper shade. There are two vantage points that offer a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. The overall statue is 369 feet (112 m) tall and the pedestal is 110 feet (34 m) tall. The statue can be seen from as far as 20 kilometres (12 mi) away, which took 10 years to complete and is built on a hill of 51 bighas.

 

 

The statue was conceived of by Indian businessman Madan Paliwal and constructed by Shapoorji Pallonji. The Statue of Belief was sculptured by Naresh Kumawat. The structure consists of an inner core of reinforced cement concrete walls surrounded by a structural steel framework which is itself surrounded by a moulded ultra-high-performance concrete exterior. The surface was sprayed with liquified zinc, then coated with copper. The interior of the statue contains an exhibition hall as well as public viewing galleries accessible by elevator at 20 feet (6.1 m), 110 feet (34 m), and 270 feet (82 m). The installation includes a statue of Nandi (Shiva's bull), measuring 25 feet (7.6 m) tall and 37 feet (11 m) long. The 16-acre grounds also include a parking facility, three herbal gardens, a food court, a laser fountain, and an area for handicraft shops, viewing platforms, musical fountains, souvenir shops and a pond. There is a mini-train also on site for quick local sightseeing.

 

The Statue of Belief at Nathdwara, Rajasthan has a height of 369 ft along with two large water tanks built above the head of the Shiva statue. The foundation of the statue was laid by Sant Morari Bapu in 2012. Along with the statue, arrangements for Jalabhishek have also been made above by planting two large water tanks. One tank will be used to draw ‘Gangaajal’ and the other is made for emergency purposes. One of the amazing facts about the statue is it can stand like this for 250 years and can withstand thunderstorms and hailstorms up to the speed of 250 kmph. A sum of Rs. 300 crores has been spent in preparing this tallest Shiva statue in the world. 30,000 tonnes of Panchdhatu or metal have been used in the making of this statue. According to reports, 2,600 tonnes of steel, 2,601 tonnes of iron, 26,618 cubic metres of cement have been used to make the statue.The base of the statue has a dimension of 30×25 metres.The statue is decorated with laser lights which will be reflected in the night sky.
