Pandupol Temple Sariska - Ancient Hanuman Ji Temple in Alwar District of Rajastan.

It is said that The Pandavas spent time at this place during their exile. But as soon as the Kaurava army came to know about this, they started searching. During this time, Pandu's son Bhima made a way by hitting a big mountain with a mace. The place where Bhima hit the mace is called Pol. Due to this, this place has become famous as Pandupol.

 

Pandupol Temple is situated in the core area of ​​Sariska, due to which devotees coming here on Tuesday and Saturday are allowed to go to the temple by private vehicles. large number of devotees reach this temple from Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. According to the priest, the sleeping idol of Hanuman ji is installed in this temple was established by the Pandavas.

 

About this idol it is said that when Bhima was going out in search of flowers after listening to Draupadi, Hanuman Ji in the guise of an old monkey had blocked the path by lying down. When Bhima reached there and asked the monkey to remove his tail, he himself said to remove the tail and make his way. On this, Bhima tried to lift the tail in anger. But he could not move the tail even after using his full strength. On this, he asked the old monkey to come in his real form. Then Hanuman Ji appeared to Bhima in his real form. After this, the Pandavas installed the statue of Hanuman Ji in a sleeping posture in the temple courtyard.

 

Visitors are allowed in the park on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8 am to 3 pm by paying a small fee. The temple is open from 5 am to 6 pm on all days of the week.

 

The Pandupol temple built in the Sariska Tiger Reserve area is about 55 km from Alwar city. The temple is 21 kms inside from entry gate of Sariska National Park and can be visited when on a tour of the Sariska Tiger Reserve. For those with their own cars, the forest department has made a concession.
