The temple, currently undergoing construction, is being supervised by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust. According to the temple trust, the final blueprint includes temples dedicated to Surya, Ganesha, Shiva, Durga, Vishnu and Brahma in the temple grounds. There are two idols of Ram Lalla will be placed in the sanctum of the temple. An estimated cost of ₹1,800 crore will be incurred to build the Ram temple in Ayodhya. As per timeline, Ram Mandir will be completed by 22nd January 2024 and inauguration will be done by PM Sh Narendra Modi. Once completed, it will be one of the marvels of Architecture and the biggest Temple across India & World.

Rama, an incarnation of Vishnu is a Hindu deity. According to the ancient Indian epic Ramayana, Lord Rama was born in Ayodhya. In the 16th century, the temple was attacked and destroyed by Babur in his series of temple raids across northern India. Later, the Mughals constructed a mosque, the Babri Masjid, which is believed to be the site of the Ram Janmabhoomi, the birthplace of Rama. The first instance of religious violence was documented 230 years after the erection of the Babri Masjid in 1853. In 1992, the dispute over the spot led to the demolition of the mosque by Hindu mobs, who aimed to rebuild a grand temple of Rama at the site. A five-judge full bench of the Supreme Court heard the title cases from August to October 2019 and ruled that the land belonged to the government per tax records, and ordered it to be handed over to a trust to build a Hindu temple. The construction of Ram Mandir commenced in August 2020.

The original design for the Ram temple was devised in 1988 by the Sompura family of Ahmedabad. The Sompuras have contributed to the design of over 100 temples worldwide for at least 15 generations, including the Somnath temple. The chief architect of the temple was Chandrakant Sompura, and he was assisted by his two sons Nikhil Sompura and Ashish Sompura, who are also architects. A new design, with some changes from the original, was prepared by the Sompuras in 2020, in accordance with the Hindu texts the vastu shastra and the Shilpa Shastras. The temple will be 235 feet (72 m) wide, 360 feet (110 m) long and 161 feet (49 m) high, and once complete, the temple complex will be the world's third largest Hindu shrine. Spanning 54,700 sq ft, the temple complex covers nearly 2.7 acres of land. The entire Ram Mandir Complex, spanning nearly 70 acres, is equipped to host about a million devotees at any given time.

The main structure of the temple built on a raised platform and have three storeys. The architecture of Ram Mandir Ayodhya is a reflection of grandeur, intricate design and deep spiritual symbolism. The temple is designed in the Nagara style of temple architecture. The central spire, known as the shikhara, is the most prominent feature of the temple. The temple complex includes a spacious mandapa (hall) and a garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum). The garbhagriha houses the main deity Lord Rama and is the most sacred part of the temple. The temple is adorned with finely detailed carvings and sculptures depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Hindu gods and goddesses and various motifs that hold religious significance. The construction materials include both white marble and red sandstone. The combination of these materials enhances the temple's aesthetic appeal. The entrance gates and gopurams (towered gateways) are intricately designed and add to the visual grandeur of the temple comples. The temple complex will feature beautifully landscaped gardens, providing a serene and tranquil environment for devotees and visitors.

The construction work accomplished with 600 thousand cubic feet of sandstone from Bansi pahadpur village mountain in Rajasthan. There are no use of iron in the construction of the temple, and the fusing of the stone blocks requireed ten thousand copper plates. In a culturally significant move, Thailand is symbolically contributing to the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya by sending soil to the Ram Janmabhoomi, building on their prior gesture of sending water from two rivers in Thailand to honor the temple. The Ayodhya Ram Mandir is currently in its final stages, with just a few months left for completion. The grand inauguration of this state-of-the-art temple is scheduled for the 22nd of January 2024.
