Vyas Cave Chamoli - Mysterious Cave where Maharishi Ved Vyas had Compiled the Vedas and Puranas.

Today we are going to tell you about Vyas Cave related to the Mahabharata period, where a great mystery is hidden. Although it is a small cave, but it is said that thousands of years ago, Maharishi Ved Vyas had compiled the Vedas and Puranas while staying in this cave. It is also believed that in this cave, Ved Vyas composed the epic Mahabharata with the help of Lord Ganesha.
 
This mysterious Vyas Cave is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. It lies on the way to Mana village. It is situated at a distance of 1 km from famous shrine of Badrinath. Let us tell you that Mana village is called 'the last village of Hindustan' or 'the last village of Uttarakhand'. Ved Vyas Cave is also famous across the country for its unique roof. Looking at this ceiling, it seems as if many pages have been placed one above the other. There is a mysterious belief regarding this roof. It is said that this is that part of the story of Mahabharata, about which no one knows except Maharishi Ved Vyas and Lord Ganesha.
 
 
It is believed that Maharishi Ved Vyas had got those pages of Mahabharata written by Lord Ganesha, but did not include them in that epic and he turned those pages into stone with his power. Today the world knows these mysterious pages of stone by the name of 'Vyas Pothi'. Now the thing to think about is what was that secret which Ved Vyas did not want to tell to the world. But at first glance, the ceiling of Vyas Cave looks as if a huge book is kept on it.
 
The cave is nestled amidst lush green forests and towering mountains, offering breathtaking views that leave visitors spellbound. To reach Vyas Gufa, one needs to trek through a narrow path that leads to the cave. The trek can be quite challenging due to steep slopes and rough terrain but it’s worth every effort once you reach your destination.
 
 
The tranquil environment surrounding the cave makes it an ideal spot for meditation or just spending some time in solitude with nature. One can hear the sound of flowing river Saraswati nearby which adds more charm to this mystical place. It’s truly a hidden gem waiting to be explored by those who seek peace and tranquility amidst nature’s bounty!
 
Getting to Vyas Cave is quite an adventure in itself. The cave is situated in the hills of Mana village, which is about 3km away from Badrinath town. You can reach Badrinath by road or air. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which is approximately 314 km from Badrinath. Once you reach Badrinath, you have two options - either take a trekking route or hire a taxi to go up till Mana village. If you choose the trekking route, prepare yourself for a steep and strenuous climb that takes around 2–3 hours.
