A part of the Calcutta University, Calcutta Women’s College is known to be the home of Warren Hastings who was the first governor general of British India. Sources reveal that his residence lies within the premises of this college. Students share that his presence is mostly sensed around New Year’s Eve when it is felt that a carriage with four horses comes near his house. The spirit of Hastings is said to rush up the staircase of his house looking for some documents. Sources reveal this is perhaps the same thing that happened back in time when bribery charges were leveled against Hastings.
